Beef in any form is a staple tailgate food item across the country. Today’s recipe is a football food classic – serve it warm at home or pack it for a parking lot party!
I’m convinced that this recipe might be the key to my husband’s heart.

Every time I pop this in the oven he calls me a “Goddess.” In an effort to elevate your status to “football food Goddess (or God)” I’m sharing it with you today. Enjoy!
Oven Baked Beef Brisket with Onions & Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 beef brisket, 7-8 lbs.
- 2-3 onions, peeled and sliced thin
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- ½ cups beef stock
- 1 12oz jar chili sauce
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325
- Lay brisket in a large roasting pan or glass dish then top with onion slices.
- Combine sugar, stock and chili sauce in a large bowl and give it a good stir to combine.
- Pour sauce evenly over onions and brisket then cover can tightly with foil or a lid.
- Bake until brisket is very tender, about 4 hours.
- Transfer meat to a cutting board and let cool.
- You can serve this right away or store it in the fridge for up to 2 days.
