Haht Sahs Hot Sauce

Haht Sahs

Some people are hot sauce lovers and others cringe at the thought of it touching to their tongue. Personally, I’m a hot sauce person – so much so that I carry bottles of it in my purse and have been known to add it everything, including salads – really. Mild, hot, and super hot: I LOVE IT ALL!

Do you love a killer hot sauce?

I recently had the opportunity to try a few bottles of Haht Sahs’s wonderful hot sauce. They say “ Yeah, you can put it on that!” and I couldn’t agree more! I put it on EVERYTHING! Their sauces defiantly have some heat but it’s just a nice little bite with balanced flavors that aren’t overpowering. I could eat their Original Sauce all by itself with just a big bag of salty corn chips. Ok, let me re-word that: I ate it straight up with a ½ a bag of corn chips until I had my 8 year old take it away from me. It was simply awesome.

The “New” Hot Sauce packed a little more heat and the taste of the jalapenos really came through. If your looking for a fantastic hot sauce that you’ll use again and again, you need to pick up a bottle of this! For those who shy away from ultra spicy, you shouldn’t have a problem – I promise that it will not melt your taste buds – it will simply make them sing. I made a Snappy Red Beer drink with it and it was out-of-this-world delicious!

Then there is the Haht Jam: my favorite. The balance between spice and sweet jelly makes for an interesting combination that kept me coming back for more. The jam tastes good on burgers, hot dogs, with turkey breasts or even in a basic ham and cheese sandwich. By far, my favorite way to enjoy it was on a breakfast sandwich and I wanted to share the recipe:

Morning Breakfast Sandwiches using Haht Sahs Hot Sauce
Makes 6

Ingredients:

  • 1-package dinner rolls (6 rolls)
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 package or 6 slices pork roll
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 tbs. butter
  • 1 tbs. Haht Sahs Jam per roll

Directions:

  1. Heat dinner rolls in a 250-degree oven for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, fry the pork roll slices until browned then remove from the pan to drain on paper towels.
  3. Heat another skillet medium-high heat and add melt 1 tbs. butter.
  4. Depending on the size of the skillet, crack 1-3 eggs at a time and cook until the whites are set and the outer edges are just starting to curl up (if the edges start to curl before the whites are fully cooked, cover the pan with a lid for a minute or two).
  5. While the eggs are cooking, place dinner rolls on a large platter and spread Haht Sahs Jam on the top layer and then place 1 slice of cheese on the bottom.
  6. As the eggs finish cooking, transfer them to the rolls then place the pork roll slices on top.
  7. Once everything is layered together, enjoy!
